South Atlantic Council to Hold Public Hearings for Proposed Federal Fisheries Management Measures

Commercial Dolphin Trip Limit for Atlantic Coast; Blueline Tilefish, Yellowtail Snapper and Black Sea Bass in South Atlantic

The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is soliciting public input on measures affecting fishermen as far north as New England. Public hearings have been scheduled in November for interested stakeholders to provide comments on the following amendments:

  • Snapper Grouper Regulatory Amendment 25 - Includes actions to specify management parameters for blueline tilefish based on the new Acceptable Biological Catch and revise the commercial trip limit and recreational bag limit; modify the recreational and commercial fishing year and commercial Accountability Measures for yellowtail snapper; increase the recreational bag limit for black sea bass.
  • Dolphin Wahoo Regulatory Amendment 1 - Includes an action to establish a commercial trip limit for dolphin.
