NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, in cooperation with the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and the New England Fishery Management Council, is seeking research proposals to utilize 500 Monkfish Days-at-Sea (DAS) that have been set-aside by the Councils to fund monkfish research endeavors through the 2014 Monkfish Research Set-Aside Program.
Proposals will be accepted through 5 p.m. EST on Monday, January 6, 2014. The selection process is competitive, and projects are funded entirely through the sale of landed sea scallops that are set aside from the overall annual quota especially for this purpose.
