The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has released a Draft Report on Fishing Best Management Practices and Mitigation Measures for public review. The report is a compilation of input provided by stakeholders during eight workshops held between October 2012 and February 2013 in eight coastal towns from Maine to North Carolina.
BOEM will consider the recommendations in this report in regards to best management practices required in Atlantic renewable energy lessees construction and operations plans, general activities plans, and site assessment plans. Comments on the report will be accepted through February 14, 2014 and can be emailed to Brian Hooker in the Office of Renewable Energy Programs.
